What university did you attend?
I attended Gonzaga University.
What advice would you give to students who are navigating the challenges of college life and preparing for their future careers?
Access your resources sooner than later, and advocate for what you need. It may be scary, new, hard, but it’s worth it. Oh, and check your email daily.
What initially drew you to the field of education and student support, and how has your journey evolved since then?
I have always been drawn to serving and sharing my knowledge with others. I started in college athletics coaching sports and realized my passion was in the 1:1 conversation, which were more transformative interactions. It was the most fulfilling part of the work. I transitioned out of that and was not sure what was next. Then, I discovered CSF and the work being done in this organization. I was unsure of whether my prior coaching experience was enough, but it became clear that I had gained so much as a sports coach. With the coach training at CSF, my skills were sharpened, and I feel more equipped to do this work.
What’s your go-to comfort food or favorite meal, and why do you love it?
Tacos — why? They just have the perfect balance of protein, hot sauce and cheese, and it must be a corn tortilla.
What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day, and do you have any go-to hobbies or activities?
Netflix! And a long walk. I rarely watch television, but when I find a good show, I love to just turn off everything, grab a blanket and put my feet up.
